Recommended by a reader, we popped in to The Vintage Store in lovely St. Ives.
The Vintage Store is not a quirky name for a coffee shop. It is actually a vintage store and just happens to serve nice coffee. Be warned, you will want to buy more than just a latte. A cool chair is a perfectly acceptable accompaniment.
Unsurprisingly for Cornwall, the beans come from the excellent Origin roastery (read about our behind-the-scenes visit).
My flat white was a cut above the average, and in terms of surroundings we couldn’t have wished for much more.
The shop overlooks the bay and has been beautifully decked out. A small, comfy seating area lies at the back, and there’s plenty to browse in between.
A respected source tells me that The Hub and The Vintage Store are the best places for coffee in tiny, gorgeous St. Ives.
I can vouch for The Hub’s ribs and The Vintage Store’s coffee. Recommended.
